High Sheriff To Light Up Newport

News Update:  Titch turns it on from the Isle of Wight County Press.

Isle of Wight High Sheriff Alan Titchmarsh will be switching on the Christmas Lights in St Thomas Square, Newport, this afternoon.

Newport Parish Council are organising the event, which takes place today (Monday) 24th November at 4.30pm in St Thomas Square.

This year Newport will see a new look to its Christmas lights, with natural trees lit in Church Litten and St Thomas Square and new displays in South Street and Nodehill.

The traditional Xmas tree (donated by Morey’s) will be in St James Square and the High Street will have the lighting columns lit with Angels on the Guildhall.
