‘Green For Go’ In Annual Photography Award

Amateur and Professional Photographers of green persuasion on the Isle of Wight, take note as the sixth annual international Environmental Photographer of the Year competition is now open for entries.
Organised by the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management, the international competition aims to celebrate photography and inspire environmental stewardship.
The Environmental Photographer of the Year shares images of environmental and social issues with international audiences, enhancing understanding of the causes, consequences and solutions to climate change.
It is open to all professional and amateur, national and international photographers working with digital and traditional photography.
There are five prize categories – changing climates, world of difference, quality of life, natural world and young photographer for under-21s.
Abhijit Nandi became the Environmental Photographer of the Year 2008 after his image (pictured above), Happy in Her Own World, won the Quality of Life category and was then selected by Chief Executive of the Environment Agency, Lord Smith, as the overall winner.
The deadline for entries is 31st July 2009 and commended images will be on show at an exhibition in London. For more details and to enter visit the competition website HERE:
