Free Help For Small Employers Who ‘Do It Online’

Nov 2nd, 2007 | By Island Pulse | In: Community, Interactive, Islandwide, Isle of Wight, Online

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) is offering small employers in the South East free help and advice on filing online, with the added bonus of a £100 tax-free if they send their 2007-08 Tax Return online.

A series of events will take place across the region in the coming months, ranging from demonstrations of HMRC’s online services to short presentations.  For details of current or future events in your area, or to book a place, call 01227 865654. Places are limited, so please book early.

HMRC’s Jean Derbyshire said:

“Doing it online means HMRC can process your information more quickly. This means more up-to-date employee records and tax codes, and so fewer queries for employers to handle.”

From April 2009, employers with 50 or more employees will have to send in-year employee starter and leaver information on forms P45(1), P45(3) and P46 online, along with similar pension information. And all employers regardless of how many employees they have will have to send this information online from April 2011.
