Police have confirmed five men arrested in May 2011 on suspicion of murdering missing Isle of Wight teenager Damien Nettles in 1996 answered bail on Wednesday, February 1st, 2012.
A 38-year-old man from Ryde, Isle of Wight was re-bailed until March 7th, 2012 pending further enquiries.
A 48-year-old man from Sandown, a 45-year-old man from Cowes, a 50-year-old man from Newport, Isle of Wight and a 40-year-old man from Gravesend, Kent were released from bail with no further action.
If further significant evidence becomes available at a later date, these decisions can be reconsidered.
In a report last week, Wednesday, January 25th, 2012, a 35-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man both from Cowes, had their bail extended until March 7, 2012 pending further enquiries.
