Dimbola Lodge in recognising local talent and achievements is showcasing ’365′ by Jake Priddle in a free to view exhibition within the Cameron Tearoom from 13th September to 30th October 2011.
’365′ is a visual on going daily photographic diary of a year in the life of Isle of Wight College Student and Dimbola Friends Coordinator Jake Priddle.
Jake is well over halfway through this personal challenge to take a picture every day for a year and has printed a snapshot selection of his favourite images for display in his exhibition.
Dimbola Exhibition Coordinator Kimberley Piggott (pictured) comments:
“Where possible, Dimbola Museum and Galleries endeavours to support the creative talents and achievements of its staff and volunteers, as well as those in the island community. Dimbola is lucky to have such enthusiastic photographers and artists under Dimbola’s roof helping to constantly raise standards and to spread the word of Julia Margaret Cameron and her work.”
Jake (pictured) comments: “This personal project started as a New Years Resolution halfway through studying my first year Level 3 BTEC Photography at the Isle of Wight College.
Taking a camera everywhere I go for an entire year means I absorb inspiration from absolutely everything just to capture the perfect shot for each day.
It is the means to developing my own unique style of photography, as well as being a visual diary, which is now well underway, passing its halfway mark in July.”
You can follow Jake Priddle on Facebook click here or on his www.jakepriddle.co.uk website.
The challenge has stretched Jake creatively and the ’365′ Exhibition is well worth a visit.
Entry into any of the Dimbola Cameron Tearoom Exhibitions is FREE as long as you purchase a cup of tea and perhaps a slice of delicious cake.
