Isle of Wight Events 2010:
1st - 3rd May 2010: Real Ale Festival, Isle of Wight Steam Railway, Havenstreet. IW Steam Railway – Relax in the ambience of Havenstreet Station with a pint of your favourite tipple as you watch the trains go by! Our 5th Spring Beer festival features beers sourced from brewers on the Isle of Wight and from around the country. There is free admission to the Festival which is open from 11am till 10pm on Saturday and Sunday and from 11am till 5pm on Bank Holiday Monday. The unique setting of Havenstreet Station makes our Festival a really pleasurable experience, and each you can enjoy a display from Haven Falconry.
7th – 9th May 2010: Ribex 2010 Cowes. RIBEX is the world’s only boat show dedicated solely to Rigid Inflatable Boats. The Ultimate Arena for checking out New RIBs at Cowes Yacht Haven.
RIBEX is one of Europe’s most successful specialist powerboat shows. Now in its 11th year, the Suzuki sponsored, RIBEX 2010 will once again be returning to Cowes Yacht Haven in the second weekend of May for what promises to be, yet another highly successful three day, sell-out, festival of power. The show traditionally features over 80 boats afloat in the event marina ready for public sea trial plus a whole tented village of special exhibits, food outlets and interactive displays. However, for 2010, a brand new feature is to be introduced; namely, an open air public concert on the Saturday night of the three day show.

8th May 2010: Spring Time Walk – ‘Walk the Line’ IW Steam Railway – Put a spring in your step with this unique opportunity to join a guided walk alongside the railway track through ancient woodland, unspoilt countryside and working farmland. Walks will start and end at Havenstreet Station where there is ample free car parking, toilets and refreshments.
8th -23rd May 2010: Isle of Wight Walking Festival 2010. The Island has over 500 miles of well- maintained and signposted footpaths around 30 miles of Heritage Coastline, while more than half of the Island is recognised as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We have approximately 300 to choose from for the 2010 Walking Festival, giving a wide range of walks for all ages and abilites over a four day period. www.isleofwightwalkingfestival.co.uk
22nd May 2010: Jazz on the Meadow 2010 Ventnor Botanic Garden. Award-winning jazz legend Courtney Pine is heading for the Isle of Wight this May to perform at what is sure to be the showcase Jazz event of the year on the Island. Set in the beautiful surroundings of the Ventnor Botanic Garden’s meadow, Courtney Pine plus full supporting lineup will headline an afternoon and evening of simply the best music around. 30th – 31st May 2010: 1960s Event IW Steam Railway. As the great ‘Age of Steam’ entered its twilight years, a new energy emerged from the years of post-war austerity. From the mini to the mini-skirt, from the Beatles to Jimi Hendrix, and from the Steam Age to the Space Age – the 1960s had it all. Relive the fashions, the music and the icons which began 50 years ago, plus there’s music each day from the ‘Five O’Clock Shadows’!
24th May 2009: Isle of Wight Renaissance Festival A celebration of community spirit, a one day festival at SmallBrook Stadium Ryde, which will include; drama, music, art, dance and historical re-enactment. The festival will raise money for local charities. Festival opening hours are: 11am – 8pm. Ticket prices are: Adults: £6, Children aged 5 – 16: £4, Children under 5: Free.
