Entertainment Ahoy For East Cowes During Cowes Week

A schedule of free live music and fun activities has been organised by East Cowes Events, a voluntary organisation promoting the town, in partnership with East Cowes Town Council with the help of local volunteers and the support of the Isle of Wight Council.
The fun kicks off on Tuesday 5th August with live music from local band Martinez who will be playing in Lower York Avenue between 10:30am and 12:30pm. Wednesday 6th sees a family Fun Day, also in Lower York Avenue, complete with a free fun fair for children and live music from the Unity Stompers.
The Fun Day, starting at 10:00am will include dance displays from Aquarius and the Wight Harlequins Dance School; and fire eating as well as daredevil stunts from the Ryde Extreme Performers, who will also be running a free circus skills workshop. There will be charity stalls as well as the opportunity to receive a relaxing Indian head massage.
The Chale Wailers will be singing in Lower York Avenue on the 7th August and Friday 8th August will see Island bands Sporting Life, Dot Com and Hoggie and the Sharpetones playing at the Esplanade from 5.30pm onwards in the lead up to the fireworks display at 9.30pm.
The finale to the schedule of entertainment is a dance organised by local community radio station, Angel Radio. The dance which starts at 7:30pm in the Town Hall will be playing hits from the 40’s and 50’s. Tickets are available on the door on the night priced at £5.
