Easy to Use Hospital Equipment Donated by Friends

Two items paid for by the Isle of Wight Friends of the hospital are assisting in the treatment of patients in the hospital’s sexual health unit.

The equipment, able to record blood pressure, temperature and pulse, was sought by staff after previous manual machines had to be taken out of use because they contained mercury.

“This is a lot more practical and easier to use and keep clean, and able to be moved from room to room,” said health care support worker Rose Jones.  “It is extremely valuable for us.”

The overall cost of the items was £1,740.
