There are a range of events taking place across the Isle of Wight to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Saturday 2nd June – Monday 4th June
A large parade will be running through Ryde Town staring from the Canoe Lake and saluted by the Lord Lieutenant, starting at 2pm. At the forefront will be marching bands and pageantry, victorian era, carnival section and finally a vintage car rally. This will end at the Canoe Lake and Appley Park will already be up and going with activities for family and children to enjoy daily for the 3 day event.
There will be a groovy 60′s Artszone inclusive to disabilities provided by Island Creations. Circus Skills and hoola hooping workshops with Gina Stelliana, vintage funfair, bric a brac, antiques and arts area with an expert in house valuer so bring your treasures for a free valuation, a live screen link to London and jubilee activities, movies and live musicians. A holistic chill out zone with tai chi, yoga workshops relaxation, herbal teas, aromatherapy reflexology and taster Indian head massage.
The WI will have a 50′s themed Tea and cakes tent, the Balmoral Bar inspired by the Queen’s highland haunt, as well as the Knees Up Mother Brown Tent, sing a long with the Pearly Queens and live piano, saxaphone and music.
Roving entertainers, mime, magicians and carnival walkabouts will be all around as well as some especailly invited guests to keep you highly entertained such as Festive Road, china Tea Cup performers and the Kangaroo stilt walkers from Icarus productions, all the way from Australia.
Evening entertainment will be a Vintage 40′s/ 50′s themed event, acts, music vintage/ swing beats with a taste of britain food and a special brew of Jubilee ale to mark the event produced by Global Productions.

- Calbourne: Village Fete – to be opened by actor Julian Wadham, who has appeared in top films and TV series
- Cowes: Regatta in Cowes to be organised by the town’s yacht clubs including shoreside events – more details here.
- Newport: Diamond Jubilee ‘park run’ and community breakfast at Seaclose Park – details to be confirmed.
- Ryde: Queen’s Diamond Jubilee event – Appley Park. Events companies Quture and Appley Park Leisure plan to transport visitors back to the 1950s with traditional games, entertainment and the creation of a ‘pop-up’ high street themed around the coronation year of 1953. Organisers aim to mix vintage nostalgia with a modern twist, creating a memorable weekend for all members of the community, around which the Island’s celebrations can be based. More details here.
- Shanklin: 2 to 10 June, ‘Sixty Glorious Years’’ – Flower festival and exhibition (open daily) celebrating highlights from the six decades of the Queen’s reign. Something to interest all ages and special activities for children. Free admission and disabled access. St Blasius Old Parish Church, Church Road, Shanklin.

- Yarmouth: 12:30pm – 5pm Children’s Party on The Green, Yarmouth, to celebrate H.M. The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Attendance is restricted to children up to the age of 12 years and who live in Yarmouth and Thorley only.

- Bembridge: Flower festival in Holy Trinity Church with a Diamond Jubilee theme.
- Bembridge: Love Lane/Meadow Drive street party at 3pm. Organised by the Village Partnership, please bring party food to share at the street party. More information here.
- Bembridge: Bembridge Village Band presents ‘A Right Royal Occasion’ with a special performance of William Walton’s march, Crown Imperial. Other music will include ‘In the Mood’, Standard of St George, music to singalong or dance to and ‘Land of Hope and Glory’ complete with flags! 3pm at Bembridge Village Hall with free light refreshments and a raffle. - Havenstreet: Event at Northbrook House by Havenstreet Community Association. Details to follow.
- Island-wide: Between 12 noon and 3pm the Island Church Bell Ringers aim to have bells ringing to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee by using the 14 towers where bells are hung for ‘full circle’ ringing (this enables the traditional English ‘change ringing’ to take place). - Newport: Holyrood Street Party – in aid of The Prince’s Trust. Live music from top local bands, 50s music, lambretta parade, beer festival at Newport Ale House, local shops, crafts and food. - Osborne House: Celebrate the Diamond Jubilee at the Isle of Wight’s own royal palace, Osborne House. Travel back in time to Victorian England and join in the festivities surrounding the arrival of Queen Victoria. Wave your flag and enjoy the colourful pomp and ceremony of the grand parade led by the lancers and Red Coats. Including the skills and thrills of an equestrian show, traditional Victorian funfair, brass band and a host of colourful characters from the past. Adults £11.50, concessions £10.40, children £6.90, family ticket £29.90. Pre-booking recommended. - Newport: Family fun day 11.30am to 2.30pm in the grounds of Newport CE Primary School and on Victoria Recreation Ground. The event will also launch a new local history and nature trail. The route can be downloaded as an ‘app’ or printed copies will be available on the day. The trail has been developed with contributions from local people and funded by a lottery grant. Victoria Recreation Ground was donated to the people of Newport on the occasion of Queen Victoria’s Jubilee so it will be appropriate to use it for this year’s celebrations. Bring your own picnic, try circus skills, ice cream van, refreshments available, planting of a commemorative tree and the launch of the new history and nature trail.

- Royal Jubilee Garden Party on Monday 4th June: 2pm – 5pm In honour of Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee the Royal Hotel are holding a Royal Jubilee Garden Party. To get the party going, you will be welcomed with a glass of bubbly. Throughout the afternoon you will be served with delicious canapés both sweet and savoury. Head Pastry Chef, Emily Harris will be serving traditional scones with cream and strawberry jam in our secret garden. And of course they will be refreshing tea served throughout the afternoon.This is an occasion to dress up and the wearing of hats is thoroughly encouraged. The High Sheriff will present a prize for the best hat and the runner up will receive a bottle of Champagne. The fancy dress theme for the children is ‘Kings and Queens of Britain’ and there will be prizes for the best costume as well as goodie bags for the little ones.
