As millions of Americans prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving Day the Classic Boat Museum  Gallery in East Cowes will be having a celebration of their own.

Saturday 22nd November is the 375th anniversary of the day on which a brave group of pioneers set sail from West Cowes to travel across the Atlantic Ocean and found the State of Maryland in the USA.

Amongst its many displays, to mark the anniversary of the sailing of the two ships, The Ark and The Dove, the Classic Boat Gallery will open their new exhibition which includes displays featuring the journey and the people who made it, models of the two boats as well as contemporary details of the country they left behind and the land they travelled to.

The exhibition will be available to view on Saturday 22nd November from 10.30am until 4pm at the Gallery, which is in the Venture Quays Building in Columbine Road,  East Cowes (Behind the big Union Jack!).

Everyone is welcome to come along and help us celebrate the beginnings of all things American.
