Children’s Author To Visit Island Schools
Oct 6th, 2008 | By Simon Butler | In: Business, Islandwide, NewsA renowned author of books aimed at children aged between 11 - 15 is to visit nine Isle of Wight schools this week as part of the National Year of Reading.
Sam Enthoven is an author who writes fantasy action thrillers for teenagers. His debut book, ‘The Black Tattoo’ was published in September 2006 and his second novel, ‘Tim, Defender of the Earth’ was issued earlier this year. They have been translated into a number of languages and published in many countries including Romania, Germany and Spain.
Sam will hold a number of hour long sessions, where he will speak to students about his passion for writing and reading and why he thinks it is so important for children and young people to be inspired at an early age.
He will be visiting three schools a day between Wednesday 8th and Friday 10th October.
Isle of Wight Council Cabinet member for Children and Young People Alan Wells said
“Sam Enthoven is a very passionate author of children’s books and is very enthusiastic during his presentations. I am sure the students will enjoy hearing what he has to say and sharing his passion for reading and writing.”
