Charity Car Wash By Island Firefighters
Oct 2nd, 2008 | By Andrew Cooper | In: Charity, Isle of Wight, Isle of Wight Event News, NewsMembers of the public are being invited to bring their cars and vans to a charity car wash at Newport Fire Station on Saturday 11th October 2008 from 10am to 3pm.
The car wash is being organised by Station Manager Julian Trout of the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, working in the Fire Safety Department at IWFRS HQ.
Julian is taking part in the Great North Run 2008, this Sunday, as part of his preparation for taking part in the New York Marathon 2008 on 2nd November 2008; he is raising money for the Firefighters Charity.
Julian has previously completed several marathons, including the New York Marathon.
Members of the SQ2SQ 2008 Team, who cycled over 1,400 miles in 14 days from the Isle of Wight to Rome in September 2008, will be at the car wash to support the event.
The public are welcome to bring their cars and vans along to be washed on Saturday 11 October in return for a donation. This is being held in aid of the Firefighters’ Charity and the : SQ2SQ 2008 Appeal
