The Coastguard today, warned sailors to be fully prepared before going to sea, as four small boats needed assistance after becoming lost this morning in snow storms.
Coastguard rescue units were sent to help two yachts, one off the Isle of Wight and the other off Portsmouth.
Signs that spring was finally in the air vanished overnight, as the weather turned wintry and the Isle of Wight woke up to a blanket of snow this morning (Sunday).
However, weather forecasters predict within a few hours much of the white stuff will melt away.
Whilst the Island was battered by 95 mile-per-hour high winds, heavy rain and spring tides this week, intrepid photographers emailed their images of the worst flood hit areas on the Isle of Wight.
