An Island Photography Group has put the Isle of Wight on the Great British Map by winning a Best in Britain Celebrated Photographer Award 2012.
Cowes Powerboat Festival ‘V’ for Victory
Once again the peaceful waters of the Solent, better known for the calm vista of yachts sailing back and forth, was broken by the roar of big block engines. Every year some of the biggest, noisiest and most powerful Marathon Class powerboats assemble to race the famous Cowes – Torquay – Cowes and Cowes – Poole – Cowes powerboat races as part of the British Powerboat Festival.

For this weekend only, the British Powerboat Racing Club is holding a photo competition for all those who are out on their boat or poised on one of the many headland vantage points taking photos of the Cowes Classic 2012 powerboats as they go past.
