Promoter John Giddings has excelled himself in booking a trio of top-notch U.S. rock bands for the 2012 IW Festival. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are the Friday headliners. Pearl Jam take the Saturday slot with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band chosen to close the three day event at Seaclose Park.
Taking the top slot on the Isle of Wight Festival main stage on Friday 22nd June is American rock and roll icon Tom Petty with The Heartbreakers at his side. This will be an extra special performance, as it marks the band’s FIRST ever UK festival appearance and their FIRST major UK show in 20 years.
The Planning & Licensing Committee of Newport Parish Council have announced their initial findings after an extensive survey of residents in the vicinity of the Isle of Wight festival site at Seaclose Park and declared it to have been a thoroughly worthwhile exercise.
A second hovercraft has returned to service from Ryde to Southsea, allowing Hovertravel to revert to their normal winter timetable.
The Isle of Wight Festival have announced its first headliner for 2012. The legendary singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band will take the top slot on Sunday June 24th and close the Festival with a not to be missed show.
