Two female and four male Scouts at 1st Wootton Scout Troop have been presented with their Chief Scout’s Gold Award by the Island’s High Sheriff, Nick Hayward. Two other Scouts also received awards: Sam Hewitt was declared Wootton’s ‘Scout of the Year’ and Dylan George was made Senior Patrol Leader.
Island Youth Water Activity Centre, Bembridge Sailing Club and Yarmouth Sailing Club will take to the water on on 21st July, to showcase sailing and show support for our Olympic and Paralympic sailors prior to the London 2012 Games.
Preparations are underway for the annual Magic Marine Cowes Dinghy Week at Gurnard Sailing Club (July 30th – August 3rd). Dinghy week is a friendly but fiercely contested regatta, attracting around 150 entries from sailors of all ages.
