Todays WeatherDavid Newble reports: The Bishop of Portsmouth the Rt Rev Kenneth Stevenson has praised Isle of Wight’s Eco-Island vision during a debate in the House of Lords.
Dr Stevenson who was one of the keynote speakers at the Isle of Wight’s Council-organised Eco-Island conference recently told the House that the Eco-Island project was the “most ambitious and laudable” that the Island had ever undertaken in its history. (more…)
Brian Postill reports: Having recently seen on TV South the hopes of the Isle of Wight to go totally self sufficient in power in the next few years.
I had an idea about using the powerful tides that run between the Island and the mainland by piers that could incorporate water turbines in their construction. (Such as seen in old films about water mills connected to geared drive shafts that ran small factories). (more…)
