The 2012 edition of Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week, received a boost for the event’s ‘Best of British’ theme today (Tuesday 22 May 2012) with the announcement that Skandia Team GBR’s top sailors will be present at the world famous regatta, just one week after competing for Great Britain at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

A 23-year-old merchant navyman from the Isle of Wight, has won a VIP New Year’s break for two to Abu Dhabi, after scoring the fastest time in a sail grinding competition held during Cowes Week regatta.
The ‘Row for Life’ team, a group of 10 athletes succeeded in their attempt to become British record breakers by rowing a non-stop 1 million meters, (600 miles) during Cowes week, which this year was held over 6th – 13th August.
