Police have revealed their latest tool in the war against crime Top Trumps style cards of themselves.
The £3,000 ‘Cop Swap’ aims to get local youngsters to swap the cards, which range from Community Support Officers right up to a ‘platinum’ Chief Superintendent card, amongst each other in order to build up a complete set.

The Isle of Wight Hockey Club recently held its Annual Hockey Festival over the weekend of 10th and 11th May at Newport Victoria Recreation Ground.
There were matches for men’s, ladies and mixed teams with sides travelling and taking part from across the UK

Councillor Melanie Swan writes: Education Assurances Meaningless. Councillors were invited to attend a briefing on the latest stage of education proposals on Thursday 22nd May.
One of the key assurances to the public has been that money from the sale of school property would be ring fenced for re-investment in education.

This year sees the Ventnor Botanic Garden Friends Society celebrate their 21st Anniversary. To mark the occasion there is an exhibition, a Great Isle of Wight Quiz and number of special events planned.
An exhibition about the Society is presently on display in the Ventnor Botanic Garden, Visitor Centre and will remain throughout the year.
