Island Firefighter Prepares For Tough Fundraising Challenge
An Isle of Wight firefighter will be undertaking a gruelling challenge to raise money for a specialist piece of medical equipment. Kelvin Wright, a Watch Manager at Ryde Fire Station, will cycle over 100 peaks of mountains in the Pyrenees in just 10 days.
Wireless Boys Walk the Wight
Today, broadcasting buddies the Weekend Wireless Boys will set off on their annual charity walking challenge around the Isle Of Wight. Island-born broadcaster, former Ventnor resident David Peak, along with a group of friends are walking the entire Isle of Wight Coast Path for Cancer Research UK.
Island Highland Gathering & Triathlon On Wight
The 1st ever Island Highland Gathering & Triathlon will be taking place later this month on the Isle of Wight. Robin Hill will be resplendent in Tartan and ringing with the sound of bagpipes on 21st August to raise funds for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
Cowes Charity Pram Race 2011
The annual Cowes Pram Race is fancy dress, charity event that sees runners complete a circuit through Cowes High Street stopping at local pubs for a drink along the way. The race is a fun event, aimed at raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support whilst raising awareness too.
