On 5th November, Celebrate the Gunpowder Plot and Guy Fawkes of 1605 on the Isle of Wight, with a party in Yarmouth Square, a Guy competition, entertainment, torchlight parade to The Common to light the beacon and a fireworks display to round off.

Media Student Seeks Replies to Carnival Questionaire.
Bryony Young a media student at the Isle of Wight college contacted Island Pulse as she requires some assistance with her media studies course.  Part of her studies require her to undertake a survey on Island residents and their like or dislike of Island Carnival.

As The Isle of Wight Arts Unit are this week creating a Muddy Mas of events for their Freedom 200 Summer Carnival Project.   Today Sandown on the Isle of Wight will see extra events being staged in the lead up to their annual Illuminated Carnival tonight.
