The first of the Isle of Wight Town Carnivals for 2008 will swing into action on Saturday with Newport Carnival Fun Day. The first Carnival of the season begins with the Children’s Carnival procession at midday from Church Litten.

South East Regional Minister Visits Island.

He was particularly interested to learn about the Eco Island vision, an ambitious plan to create a sustainable and thriving economy for the Island,

The Isle of Wight’s Carnival Learning Centre at Westridge in Ryde, opened its doors last weekend with a spectacular taste of the Caribbean.
The Right Honourable Charles Maynard Minister of Culture for the Bahamas flew in especially from the Caribbean Island to preside over the official opening ceremony at the prestigious centre.
