Taxpayers reported almost 80,000 tax rebate phishing emails last year, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) have revealed today, as they warn people not to fall victim to the email scams sent by fraudsters.
Self Assessment tax cheats will be targeted by a new HM Revenue and Customs taskforce. The taskforce will put the spotlight on people abusing the Self Assessment system fraudulently to claim back money they are not entitled to.
