Carnival Spirit & Generosity Shines

The evening may have been overcast but the smiling faces and effervesence of carnival spirit shone as the penultimate end to the summer carnival season got underway last night in Ryde.
Ryde Carnival Festivities started back in July and last night Rydes Main Carnival cavalcade of colourful costumes, floats, walkers and music must surely make this the biggest carnival procession of the summer season.
Any thought of the Carnival could be over for Ryde due to lack of money, seemed to swell the crowds into popping coins into the collection pots at every opportunity.
We had no problems donating our pennies as we always do to each Island carnival we attend, but have to admit beauty and the beast (pictured) won hands down in the collecting stakes.
For those that missed the Main Carnival the Ryde Illuminated procession will take place on Saturday 30th August approx 7:30pm 8:30pm.
