Burglary at RSPCA Charity Shop

Isle of Wight Police are appealing for more information after a burglary was reported at the RSPCA charity shop in Lake.

Officers are making further enquiries to trace a man suspected of stealing a member of staff’s purse from the RSPCA store at Sandown Road in Lake.

The burglary took place between 12pm and 2pm on Wednesday, November 30, 2011.

The black leather purse contained at least £20 in cash, various store cards and a bank card.

The suspect was described as:

  • White
  • 18 – 20 years old
  • Slim build
  • Approximately 5 ft 9 ins tall.
  • Dark hair to the length of his ears.

He was wearing blue jeans and a black coat.

Police would like to take this opportunity to remind people working in shops to be wary of any customers who appear to be acting suspiciously or who try to distract staff.
