Brighstone Christmas Tree Festival

This year Brighstone’s 13th Christmas Tree Festival will run from 10th to the 13th December 2009.
The organisers of the annual Christmas Tree Festival are delighted that Sally Taylor MBE of BBC’s South Today will be lighting the “Tree of Joy” at Brighstone Methodist Church on the 10th December and all are invited to join in the carols.
A range of impressively decorated trees from individuals and groups around the island will be displayed at various venues. Viewing times will be from 10am till 5pm and there will be evening events as well (see program below). Entry is free but any donations in appreciation of the beauty of the exhibition are given to charity.
Craft Fairs, Information Fairs, School Chistmas Fairs and don’t miss the special concerts on the Friday and Sunday.
The first “Stars of Wonder” concert will be a festive ‘compote’ to suit all tastes in aid of island charity “Love Russia”; the second will see the Sandown and Shanklin Military Band presenting a concert in aid of “Help for Heroes”. Many who came to watch them in the summer will welcome the return of this versatile and talented band. Both concerts are in St Mary’s Church and start at 7pm. It is advisable to arrive early as seats are filled quickly.

Saturday December 12th:
1.00 – 4.00pm Brighstone School Christmas Fair – at the School
2.30pm The Credorer Ensemble.

4.30pm – View the trees and enjoy Brook Choir singing

Sunday December 13th:
2.30pm The Rhymes & Chimes of Christmas – Brighstone Church
4.30pm Closing Festival Service for Mottistone Church
7.00pm Sandown & Shanklin Military Band Concert
