Blunderland In Lapland

Dec 2nd, 2008 | By Amanda Johnson | Isle of Wight News From The Island Pulse

Lapland New Forest more like ‘Santa In Blunderland’ there have been over  1,300 complaints about New Forest Lapland .  The advertisements described Lapland New Forest as ‘where dreams really do come true’.

Cliff Williams, who visited Lapland New Forest with his family from the Isle of Wight said:

There is nothing magical about this experience.

One hundred pounds plus a ferry fare from the Isle of Wight.. to queue for over 90 minutes to see father christmas, to be asked to pay a further £15.00 for a photo, join another long queue to receive a boys toy as they had run out of girls toys, a joke by any standard, but a very expensive one.

My advice get your children or grand children a better quality present take the other half for a meal and still save money.

If you already have tickets get your money back, this is definately not of merchantable quality.

The advertisements described Lapland New Forest as ‘where dreams really do come true’. However the Lapland New Forest website is no longer available but you can view a video of it on the BBC site

The park was “a complete misrepresentation, it was a few huts surrounded by a sea of mud with nearby trees sprayed white, leaving my children heartbroken,” one visitor said.

Dorset County Council’s trading standards team said it would start an investigation after receiving more than 50 complaints.

One woman also told the BBC:

The “bustling” Christmas market consisted of about four stalls and she had to pay further money to gain entry to it.

Organiser of Lapland New Forest, Henry Mears blamed:

”a few groups of professional troublemakers” for the negative reports about the attraction, and  his staff had been abused and even attacked, he refused to say whether they would stay open or whether dissatisfied customers could claim refunds.
