Bladerunners Brave Isle of Wight Challenge for Charity

Team Bladerunners Kari, Tabitha and Matt from Infinergy recently completed the gruelling Isle of Wight Challenge consisting of 19 miles of cycling and 2 miles of canoeing, topped off with an 8 mile run!

‘Blade runners’ was named after the wind turbine blades of Infinergy’s proposed 5-turbine project on the Island, Vectis Wind Farm. The course took the competitors around the proposed wind farm site on the West Wight. The team raised funds for charity Sail4Cancer.

Sail 4 Cancer, is run entirely on a voluntary basis, was set up by a group of keen sailors who have lost friends/relatives to cancer in recent years. Sail 4 Cancer raises funds for cancer treatment/research through the organisation of sailing events whilst providing sailing opportunities for cancer patients/their families.

Team Bladerunners fundraising page is still open, to make a donation visit: www.justgiving.com/teams/iowbladerunners website link.
