Bestival: Weather On Wight
Sep 3rd, 2008 | By Carolyn Keene | In: Bestival, Environment, News, Online News, WeatherIf you’re heading to the Bestival on the Isle of Wight this weekend, then the weather is likely to play a major role. Bestival goers should be prepared, as rain is forecast and predicted to be especially heavy on Friday.
A case of loads of sunshine and you’ll need a hat, but loads of rain and you’ll need the wellies.
Bestival Weather: Metcheck Weather Icon up and running and it will update daily.
The Met Office say nearly an inch-and-a-half of rain will fall in some areas with the Environment Agency having three flood watches in place amid fears the conditions will get worse.
The gloomy outlook could mean thousands of Bestival-goers may face a washout this weekend and music lovers, could be camping right in the middle of the torrential conditions.
Perhaps we now see an even better reason why the Bestival organisers went Under The Sea for the fancy dress theme.
Update: on NME Blog Rob da Bank has written about how storms lashed the festival site last night – striking fear into festival staff members’ hearts. For a while organisers feared the storm would seriously affect events at the bash, which kicks off on Friday.
However, thankfully for them the weather cleared up without damage being done.
“There was a huge storm last night that raged all night, scaring any crew staying onsite in their tents,”
“But then the sun came out and we’re getting sunburnt again.”
