Following on from Island Pulse News of a few strokes past midnight ‘Bestival Wins Best Medium Sized Festival In UK Awards’  BBC Radio 1’s own Rob da Bank, responds with pride at Bestivals  whopping hat-trick win and for being voted for by the public whose opinions really count.

Taking place at the Isle Of Wight’s Robin Hill Country park in early September, Bestival featured headline slots from The Chemical Brothers, Beastie Boys and Primal Scream as well as a surprise guest appearance from the legendary Madness to name but a very small few of the acts featured.

Bestival was one of this year’s few hot festivals too the sun shone again on Bestival 2007.  This is a truly special distinction for everybody that has worked so hard to make Bestival the success it has become.

Rob da Bank commented:

‘Me, John, Josie and Ziggy can’t believe we made it a hat-trick winning Best Medium Sized Festival for the third year running! We’re so chuffed that so many of the mad Bestivalites voted for us and congrats to the Isle Of Wight Rock Festival for winning Best Large Sized Festival too - big up the Isle Of Wight, it’s now officially the centre of the universe!’

This year Bestival organisers have a double reason for celebration as the award coincides with the announcement of the team’s newest venture, Camp Bestival. A sister event to September’s flagship festival, Camp Bestival is set in the grounds of Lulworth Castle, Dorset and takes place on the 18, 19, 20 July.  Inspired by the halcyon days of summers past, imagine the 1950s British Holiday Camp with a twist and you’ll be on the money. As ever there’ll be a super live music line-up programmed by the big daddy himself Rob da Bank (soon to be revealed!).

In true Bestival style the music will be diverse and will tickle all tastebuds with a Main Stage, the new Tree Stage, a Balearic Bollywood Arena, the Rock n Roll Tent and the magnificent Spiegeltent (for Come Dancing dance offs).  All this plus Comedy, Spoken Word (with very special guests), Theatre in the Woods, Films projected on the Castle Walls, Fireworks and fun on tap!

It’s truly been one hell of a year for Rob and Josie da Bank and their partners Ziggy and John Hughes, but, ever committed to breaking boundaries, the team are looking forward with excitement to the year ahead with the birth of a new show and a determination to keep that ‘Best Medium-Sized Festival’ award on their mantelpiece!
