Beautiful Island Scenes Photo Competition
Aug 29th, 2008 | By Carolyn Keene | In: Arts, Competition, Features, Interactive, Isle of Wight Event News, News, Online News, PhotographyThe Isle of Wight County Press (IWCP), keen to acknowledge Island photographers and raise awareness of the extraordinary beauty of the Island, are calling for photographic submissions for their 2009 calendar.
In association with the annual Isle of Wight Photographer of the Year (IWPOY) Competition, the IWCP calendar category entitled ‘Beautiful Island Scenes’ went live at the beginning of April.
The IWCP having seen some of the winners from the previous years IWPOY, commented that the images are fantastic. The IWCP thought that the IWPOY idea was such a good opportunity to get images that don’t just look great, but are specific to the Isle of Wight and as an added bonus taken by photographers who live on the Island.
Twelve images are to be selected from the specific IWCP online gallery in September 2008 and will be judged by the Isle of Wight County Press themselves.
This is a great opportunity to get out into the countryside and capture something special about the rich diversity of the Island landscape.
Albeit a chance to show off your best images with the possibility of having them published with credit, an added bonus the photographer’s will also be awarded £50 for each image selected for publication.
Online registration is required and as the competition is in association with the IWPOY, the IWPOY rules
and registration apply. Entrants will be able to submit an extra 3 images in this IWCP Calendar category as well as being able to enter and submit 3 entries for the main IWPOY Awards gallery.
