BCC Isle of Wight Wear it Pink Day

Oct 12th, 2006 | By Amanda Johnson | Isle of Wight News From The Island Pulse

Breast Cancer Campaign is the only charity that specialises in funding independent research into breast cancer throughout the UK and is appealing to the Island business community to get behind its national award winning ‘wear it pink’ event on 27th October.  It’s fun and simple, all people have to do is wear something pink and donate £2 to the Charity.

The money raised will go towards valuable medical research to help the one woman in nine who will be diagnosed with this disease in her lifetime. Last year the day was a huge success and raised over £1.67 million.

All types of businesses can participate; from small to large companies, as they find it a great way of building team and staff morale. Some companies go as far as running competitions for the most outrageous pink outfits.

Amanda Williams, Director of Fundraising says,

“Breast Cancer Campaign is appealing to businesses around the country to get behind it’s ‘wear it pink’ day this October. It is a great way to get staff involved in something fun and your support will help Campaign to continue researching the cure”
