Fundraisers from different organisations across the Isle of Wight, have come together to organise a special one off auction in aid of Lottie Rann, the little girl from Niton who was struck down by Meningitis for the second time last year leaving her paralysed from the neck down.
Ryde Inshore Rescue were tasked shortly after 0700hrs this morning to reports of a vessel suffering engine failure after spending the night sitting on Ryde Sands.
Ryde Sands proved they could still catch the Sailors of Round The Island Race out on Saturday when the lifeboat crew of Ryde Rescue 1 and Ryde Rescue 2 attended 22 boats that ran aground just after low water.
There has been another jackpot winner this week on the Island Independent Lifeboat Lotto who has received a cheque for £4,500 after correctly selecting the winning numbers 1, 8, 11 and 18 for the draw on 6th June 2012.
Ryde Inshore Rescue are urging people to be more prepared before they go out to sea after their third callout of the week to a boat which had no way of raising the alarm and no safety equipment on board.
Ryde Inshore Rescue has survived their busiest year ever and would like to send out a BIG thank you to everyone that has supported them throughout 2011.
With summer well and truly behind us, Ryde Inshore Rescue are looking forward to their annual end of season dinner and auction.
