Lack of wind caused a delay to racing in the final day of the IRC National Championship organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club.

Day Two of the RORC IRC Nationals was not for the faint hearted and the Solent served up some challenging conditions for the competitors.
It was a day for heads out of the boat looking for the best breeze and more importantly, avoiding the holes in the wind.

Racing Day One in the IRC National Championship, of which was also notable as Ben Ainslie’s Solent send off. 
The IRC National Championship began with a record entry of 87 yachts, and is the last occasion to see Ben Ainslie (pictured) in action in the UK before the Beijing Olympics.



Cowes to Cherbourg Morgan Cup Race 2008.

The RORC Morgan Cup Race 2008, out of Cowes on Friday, was won by David Lees High Tension 36, Hephzibah, in a lightening quick race to Cherbourg from the Solent.

Day one of the Red Funnel Easter Challenge saw a ’Gale Force Solent’ with strong north westerly winds, gusting over 40 knots.
