Island Pulse Intro: As It Happens Gordon Giltrap New Live CD.After a hugely successful debut gig for ‘Acoustics at the Altar’ on the 19th October, Gordon Giltrap set the standard for future performances in aid of The Park Centre Project Charity based in Ryde.  ‘As It Happens’ the gig coincided with Gordon’s latest CD release and proves that even after 40 years in the music business Gordon can still deliver something different.

Gordons performance drew large crowds as Cora Wade of the Park Centre explains:

The gig with Gordon Giltrap was a roaring success as far as we were concerned - I’ve had some smashing feedback from those who came along.

Carol from Platform One contacted me beforehand to see if Gordon would be willing to go along to the College to speak Gordon was more than happy, and was with the students for a few hours before heading back to Ryde to play the gig.

Gordon played to 120 people, which was astonishing to us, as it was our first gig, we really didn’t expect it to sell as well as it did (although, of course, it helped greatly that we had someone of Gordon’s ilk playing!).

I’ve been involved with so many high profile gigs over the past few years that haven’t sold as much as they should have, so, although we really put the effort in to promote the night, we weren’t expecting (but hoping like crazy) to sell as many tickets as we did!

We sold out of wine before the first interval, but luckily had back-ups available - lots of people mentioned how great it was to get a bottle of Spitfire at a gig at a church!

We managed to raise some money for the charity, which has been ploughed directly back into the project.

Some of the feedback Cora had from those who attended:

“This was a great event, at a reasonable price. Gordon is an incredible talent…thank you”

“The evening was brilliant, the setting unique, and what can I say about Gordon? Breathtaking!”

Gordon said:

“I had such a good time on the Island meeting the students in the afternoon, doing the concert in evening and seeing old friends at the same time. It doesn’t get any better than that!”

Island Pulse say:
