Appreciation For Constabulary Training.
Jun 2nd, 2008 | By Citizen Media | In: Community, Government, Isle of WightJohn Coles reports: Isle of Wight Police are to be thanked today (Monday 2nd June), for assisting in the training of police officers within Hampshire Constabulary.
Under the community engagement scheme which has been running for two years, six events will be taking place across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
As part of the event, a representative from the Isle of Wight ‘host organisation’ is to be presented with a certificate at the Riverside Centre this afternoon.
Training scheme, police officers spend five days with a host organisation observing and taking part in activities involving the local community.
The aim of the placement is to give student officers an understanding of other organisations, diverse communities and groups within their police area, thereby increasing trust and improving police performance.
Sarah Purdue, Community Engagement Coordinator, said,
These events are a great way for us to show our appreciation for all the hard work these organisations put in to making the placement scheme a success.
