Appeal Over Isle of Wight Charity Box Thefts

It’s alleged the first box was taken between 7.30pm and 7.40pm on Thursday, December 18th from outside a home address in the Lower Green Road area of St. Helens near Ryde.
A white coloured bird box was attached to a neighbour’s front garden gate, which was also reported stolen at the same time.
The box contained donations for a Parkinson’s Disease charity.
It is not known exactly how much money was inside the box.
Two men wearing hooded tops were seen in the area at the time of the alleged theft.
The second charity box was reported stolen from the front foyer of Morrisons supermarket, Newport Road, Lake, Isle of Wight.
The box, which contained donations for the Isle of Wight Earl Mountbatten Hospice in Newport, had been chained to a wall above a pile of Isle of Wight Gazette newspapers.
It’s alleged the box was stolen from the supermarket between 4.00pm on Saturday, December 20, and midnight on Sunday, December 21.
The amount of money inside the box at the time of the reported theft is unknown.
