Anyone Fancy A Wight Santa Dash?

Nov 26th, 2007 | By Citizen Media | Isle of Wight News From The Island Pulse

Isle of Wight Santa Dash. Island Pulse Intro: While Rudolph and the team do a great job of sleigh pulling, bringing our presents at Christmas to  the Isle of Wight.  Being a 21st century Santa is not for the feint hearted or out of shape and now he brings you his very first Santa Dash series.

Santa told the Island Pulse Wight Christmas Fairy:

“Running is essential to my fitness regime, the one that means you get your presents on time. And I decided it was time I let everyone join in the fun.”

“I visit every one of your homes (well, I do if you have been good) but now Santa Claus is coming to a town near you to race you over 5K.”

“I don’t like to brag but my performance each Christmas Eve speaks for itself.”

Are you ready to take on the Santa Dash?

Go on then, how much is it? It only costs £12 to enter this superb event and that includes your race entry, your Santa suit and your bespoke medal.  We are also encouraging every Santa to try and raise a minimum of £20 for a worthy cause.

This is the dashes first year but Santa is hoping to inspire and motivate 2,000 men, women and kids to take part at each venue. With your help, he can get there tell your friends!

The vast majority of people entering will not be serious runners. Please don’t worry, there will be plenty of people to keep you company. Santa Dashing is all about taking part so if you run, jog, walk or crawl, we really don’t mind. At least you’re off the couch!

We really hope to take the opportunity to raise some much needed cash for your chosen charity this Christmas, it is the season of goodwill after all! Click  HERE: and pledge some money today

Southampton has already gone Santa Crazy!

The inaugural Southampton Santa Dash is on its way! Over 2000 runners are expected to run around Southampton Common all dressed as Santa.

The Southampton Santa Dash is on Sunday 9th December at 10.30am and is raising money for Southampton Hospital Children’s charitable fund. There are about 8,000 Doctors and Nurses working at this hospital and we’re hoping to have a few of them there running on the day. You never know it could come in handy if you need a bit of off the record medical advice.

“I’ve had these lumps on the side of my head for years now Doc, do you think I should I be worried?”
“No I think you’ll be alright?”
“How can you be so sure?”
“They’re your ears!”

The Southampton Santa Dash is aiming to raise £20,000 for the Children’s hospital.  I’m no Aristotle, although that toga did look comfy, but I’m pretty sure that works out at £10 from 2,000 people, £20 from 1,000 people or a £20,000 one off payment from a lottery winner. Great as that would be we’re not holding out too much hope of that happening so we are really going to need your help with this.

What about once all the Dashing has stopped?
I would personally go to the nearest watering hole for tea and medals but that’s just me. If that idea does appeal to you here’s are some details about the nearest one. Who knows? If you keep your Santa suit on you may get a free drink.

If you do have any more questions you can email, James the Santa Dash race organiser at james@inmotionsport.com and tell him the Island Pulse Wight Christmas Fairy sent you.
