The health and emotional wellbeing of thousands of carers on the Isle of Wight is to be highlighted as National Carers Week begins 9th - 15th June 2008. 
The Isle of Wight Council is supporting this year’s National Carers Week, along with the ten leading charities who support the UK’s six million carers.

The RORC Morgan Cup Race 2008, out of Cowes on Friday, was won by David Lees High Tension 36, Hephzibah, in a lightening quick race to Cherbourg from the Solent.

The Bestival Island Band & DJ Competition came back in 2008, hungrier than ever to pluck some future superstars from the wealth of talent that the Isle of Wight holds.

Last month, the Isle of Wight Big Green Picnic was hailed a huge success with over 7,000 visitors on the spring bank holiday weekend.
