Police Sting Nets Drug Offenders.

British Transport Police arrested two men for drugs offences during a policing operation for the Isle of Wight Festival.  In addition to the arrests, a further 30 drug cautions were issued.

Two artists were showing their work on the terrace of the Winter gardens, in Ventnor, last Sunday.
Brenda Jackson and Caroline Whittle (pictured) were happy to use the ‘Freespace’ initiative  to show and sell their work, and hopefully more artists from the locality will turn up with their work.



IRC National Championship Day Three.

Lack of wind caused a delay to racing in the final day of the IRC National Championship organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club.
There were numerous general recalls and Z flag penalties as competitors,



Ventnor Beach Raises Quality Blue Flag.

Ventnor Beach was recently awarded a prestigious Blue Flag from the Keep Britain Tidy group after an absence of five years.
This welcome news for Ventnor is celebrated today (Monday 16th June) when the Blue Flag signifying excellent beach quality will be raised on Ventnor Esplanade.
