Godshill Horticultural Society will be holding its 94th Annual Summer Show at the Scout Hall, May Close tomorrow (Wednesday) 1st August 2pm. There will be lots of Village Exhibitors in various categories, plus the Award Winner will be presented in the Best Kept Gardens Competition.

Following recent detections of avian influenza H5N1 in France, Germany and the Czech Republic and consultation with ornithological experts. Defra have asked wild bird reserves across the South East of England, to undertake patrols for dead wild birds.
Members of the public are also being encouraged to report dead wild birds, if anyone on the Isle of Wight comes across any of the species listed below, please call the Defra Helpline on 08459 33 55 77. (more…)

With stalls, entertainments, races, tug of war competition, Miss Crab Fayre (for 18-30 year olds), Glamourous Granny, Knobbly Knees and Mr Muscle competitions. Fun For All 10am-5pm.
